The short version: your addresses stay on your Mac. AddressIt collects nothing, and JohnnyMac Apps never sees your data.
What AddressIt stores
The names and addresses you enter are stored only on your Mac, inside AddressIt's private storage. They are never sent to JohnnyMac Apps. Your Mac's own backups, such as Time Machine, may include them.
What we collect
Nothing. AddressIt has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking. We do not sell or share any data.
USPS address checking (optional)
If you choose to connect your own USPS account in Settings > Advanced, AddressIt sends an address directly to the United States Postal Service only when you:
- check a ZIP Code,
- validate an address, or
- look up a city and state from a ZIP Code.
That information is handled under the USPS privacy policy. Your USPS keys are stored in your Mac's Keychain and are sent only to USPS.
Printing
Labels are sent only to the printer you choose.
Children
AddressIt does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
